Factions

There are 2 sides in SAGA. The Order, followers of good, destroyers of evil, and The Brotherhood, the masters of dark magic and war.

The Order

The Order consists of Light, Nature and Machine factions, which have been previously mentioned in “The Basics: Setting up your  Nation”. Light is the faction of human paladins, clerics priestesses and mythical creatures such as dragons and phoenixes. Nature is the faction of elves, including eagle riders, sabre riders and bear riders– also containing many ranged units. Machine is the faction of dwarves and their creations, such as mechanical giants, zeppelins and tanks.

The Brotherhood

The Brotherhood consists of Magic, Undead, and War factions, which have also been mentioned in “The Basics: Setting up your Nation”. Magic is the faction of dark elves who are masters of stun, slow and dark magics, whereas War is the faction of orcs, masters of war and bring death to all who oppose them.

In my personal opinion (not that I’m allowed to express that much), both sides are equal, but some beg to differ.

What are the differences between The Order and The Brotherhood?

Some quests are available to specific sides, for example “Rescue The Princess”, a level 15 Order quest. Also, general chat is divided, so only The Order can see their general chat, it’s the same for The Brotherhood. Order and Brotherhood members cannot co-op (quest with each other), join the same guild, mail each other or add each other as friends. They can, however PvP (player vs. player), trade and PM (personal message) one another.

What are the differences between the different factions?

Each faction has a variety of troops belonging to each of them. For example, you won’t see a Nature nation with zeppelins, or a Magic nation with Orc Berserkers. Each faction has a variety of different spells, too. Also regarding troops, their voices will differ from one another, both sides can also view the conflict chat channel.

City wise, the layouts are similar, but the city style is completely different. If you just click on different factions in the “Create new Nation” screen, you’ll notice the considerable difference. Each faction’s city makes a statement about who they are. I’m a personal fan of the Nature city style, although my main nation is Light.

During battle, the “START” button and your battle panel will be different dependant on your faction, as will your Special Ability icon and city panel.
